06/2011 Linux SIG

usbminipenguinspeaker1In our June Meeting:

  • Setup Wireless USB adapters
Dick Servis, a loyal attender (but hardly a Windows fan) installed Linux on his legacy HP laptop but USB wireless network adapters do not work. We’ll failed in our attempt to set up a networking for unrecognized hardware using Windows Wireless Drivers (an ndiswrapper utility). After testing I also found this. To be continued next month…
  • Two ways of installing Linux Mint application software.
Installed applications using the Software Manager and Synaptic.
  • Finally get giver working in the SIG-Room.
  • A look at LinuxMint xfce a rolling distro based on Debian and Mint that promises no further version upgrades.
