The TBCS Linux SIG meets the third Monday of each month.

 

The next Linux-SIG meeting is May 21, 2012 at 7 pm.

 

 

TBCS FOSS SIG meets on the last Thursday of each month in the TBCS Resource Center.

 

The next FOSS-SIG meeting is May 31, 2012 at 1 pm.

Due to storms in the area we had no Internet connection and didn't complete our CMS review. We'll complete this study next month. We also could not connect to look at discussion items below.

At our March 31st meeting we began a review of CMS or content managed systems. CMS programs were selected from the lists at Open Source CMS  and CMS Matrix. We wanted to look at Joomla, Wordpress and Get Simple.

Lots happened in the past week. We used Firefox 4.0 - WAMP - Joomla 1.5.22 and the new Joomla 1.6.2 CMS managers. We briefly introduced Get Simple v3.00 that does not require a database. We had more on-our-plate than can happen in a single meeting so more CMS and WordPress is on the back burner till next month.
