TBCS FOSS SIG meets on the last Thursday of each month in the TBCS Resource Center.

The TBCS Linux SIG meets the third Monday of each month.

Most of these are articles I wrote for "Bits and Bytes" the monthly newsletter of the Tampa Bay Computer Society. I attempted to cover Free and Open Source Software ranging from alternative operating systems to thousands of applications. The first article is notes from my General Meeting presentation on July 19, 2011.

 

I hope this builds FOSS support within the club as acceptable user software with zero user cost. Using open source, we save hundreds of dollars on each computer installation (which allows us to buy nicer computer toys) and helps support a dedicated worldwide open source developer community.
